Greetings from The End of the World!
Down here in Ushuaia, there are mountains, penguins, ice, and the most delicious empanadas I’ve ever tasted in my life. My day trip to see the penguins was totally worth it – we got remarkably close, despite not getting off the boat, and the organizers were very conscious about making sure everyone got to take a few minutes to get a good look. The National Park is also a wonderful stop, with stunning mountain, lake, and ocean views.

There is also an absolutely ADORABLE local yarn shop run by an incredibly kind woman and a very sweet, friendly kitty who will help you choose colors. I picked up some yellow and blue yarn while I was here, and I think I’ll likely use them for a few granny squares.
I have a grand plan for using some of the yarn I pick up on my travels for a large granny square afghan. I have several balls from around Central and South America that I have reserved for this project, but it’s unclear when I will actually get around to that. In the meantime, I continue collecting souvenir yarn from everywhere I visit!

I’m headed to Peru next to see Machu Picchu before heading back home for a bit. Can’t wait to share my photos!
