Greetings from Argentina!
I just spent a lovely six weeks in Buenos Aires, which had great weather and loads of parks filled with beautiful trees of all kinds.

Buenos Aires has a dedicated neighborhood for yarn shops, which let me spend several lovely afternoons wandering in and out.

My favorite was the Budetex flagship store, which sells a range of high-quality yarns made predominantly from wool harvested locally from Patagonian sheep. I got some incredibly soft, natural gray wool that I plan to use for a hat/cowl combo. I also snagged some cotton to knit a soft cardigan for springtime, and some fingering weight wool in colors I couldn’t resist. I haven’t decided what I’ll use the fingering weight for, yet, but I’m in love with the colors, so I think whatever I choose will turn out fine.

Current WIPs:
Finnish Silk Tank Top
I’ve gotten all the way to where I split for the straps! Just in time for winter! My timing remains flawless!

Cable Socks from Slay Knits
My first attempt and this heel didn’t go well, and the foot was too long, so I tried picking back and proceeded to drop half the stitches. I ended up ripping back and starting from scratch. My second attempt, I’m happy to say, is going much better!

Dreamy Seas Shawl from Denise E.M. Bartels
Thanks to the power of lifelines, I’ve made it through several repeats of the pattern, and you can really see it coming through! This is such a beautiful pattern, and it’s getting easier to remember the repeats as I keep working through them, so I’m looking forward to this being a longer-term, “reach-for-it-when-I-want-to-work-on-something-easier” pattern for the next few months.

Up Next:
I’m headed down to Ushuaia, Argentina for another week before I take off to Peru to see Machu Picchu! See you at The End of the World!
